Finding the right therapist is important - someone you feel comfortable with. During our conversation, we'll get to know each other, discuss your concerns, and see which services align with your needs. It's an opportunity for you to ask questions and gain clarity about the therapeutic process.

Individual art therapy

Are you in need of a private and confidential space to explore your experiences? An individual art therapy session is a friendly and welcoming environment where you can share any worries, or desires and goals you have. Art materials will be provided for you to express yourself, in addition to talking about your feelings and experiences. You will be supported and encouraged, and offered insights and guidance to help you grow and understand yourself better. Person-centred, psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based approaches will be used facilitate your therapeutic journey.

  • Individuals:

    • Currently, or previously, in an unpaid caregiving role.

    • Comfortable with a therapeutic process that takes a bit more time to address deeper issues.

    • Looking for a form of therapy that that uses art to explore personal stories and experiences.

    • With a desire to really understand yourself better through a more thorough exploration.

    • Curious about exploring thoughts and habits that might be affecting your behaviours.

    • Dealing with unresolved conflicts or issues from your past.

    • Needing support through navigating personal challenges and goals.

    • Deeper self-exploration - In art therapy, you're encouraged to explore the layers of your mind, delving into thoughts and memories you might not be fully aware of.

    • Discovering hidden patterns - Through art, you might notice recurring themes or patterns that give you insights into parts of your mind and emotions you might not fully understand consciously.

    • Making sense of the past - The therapy process helps you make sense of things that happened before, allowing personal growth and resolving issues from the past.

    • Uncovering symbolic meanings - Art therapy involves looking at the symbols and metaphors in your art, helping you uncover hidden meanings and connections.

    • Growing over time - Since art therapy takes a bit longer, it can lead to ongoing personal growth and a better overall understanding of who you are as time goes on.

  • Art therapy sessions are held in a private residential setting on Histon Road, Cambridge. Other private settings may be considered depending on circumstances. The goal is to create a comfortable and safe space wherever you feel most at ease.

  • 1hr | Weekly

    This timeframe aims to create a structured and focused experience during our time together. It allows enough time to have meaningful discussions and explore important parts of your journey. This amount of time should feel manageable and comfortable for you.

  • £60 per session

    I adopt a sliding scale approach to fees, which means that the cost of therapy can be adjusted based on your individual circumstances. This is to ensure that financial limitations won't prevent you from getting the care you need and deserve.

Restorative home visit

Feeling isolated and overwhelmed by your caregiving responsibilities? You're not alone. A restorative home visit is about co-creating a supportive space for you to unwind and recharge in an environment that is comfortable and familiar to you. During this time you will be encouraged to step away from your usual tasks to engage in conversation and therapeutic art making, as you desire. You might even like to enjoy this activity with the person you are looking after. Tailored to your needs, these sessions can be booked as a one off session, or in block bookings up to 12 weeks. Art materials will be provided for you, but you can choose to use your own if you prefer.

  • Individuals currently, or previously, in an unpaid caregiving role experiencing:

    • Isolation and loneliness - a lack of social connections.

    • Emotional Strain - Stress and burnout

    • Limited personal time - You need a break, and time to focus on yourself.

    • A need for emotional support - you desire a place to share thoughts and feelings.

    • Physical and mental fatigue - you need a place to relax and unwind

    • Lack of recognition - You often feel unnoticed or unappreciated.

  • Typically, a home visit will be held in the comfort of your own residence.

    But, other locations may be considered, depending on individual circumstances and needs.

    Where appropriate, a creative break could take place in a local cafe, a park, or a more private space.

  • 40 mins | Weekly

    Book as a one off break, or in a recommended block of up to 6 or 12 weeks.

    By meeting regularly you have the opportunity to keep exploring and sharing your experiences.

    Talking and engaging in creative practices within a supportive relationship helps reduce feelings of anxiety, stress, and isolation. Additionally it can help to improve confidence and clarity of thinking.

  • Payment options:

    Pay in full - £40 per session

    Pay what you can - £10 | £15 | £20

    Additional travel cost of 45p per mile applies to areas outside of Cambridge City.

Time to talk

Feel like you could use a listening ear and gentle support? Time to Talk is a simple way to dedicate some time to your well-being. When life feels overwhelming, relationships are challenging, or stress is taking its toll, talking things through can help.

You can take a break from your daily routine and speak openly, knowing that someone is listening carefully to whatever you want to say, without judging you. You can decide whether you'd like to talk in person, online or on the phone, so it's easy and comfortable for you, right from your home. If you need, we can schedule regular calls to keep in touch.

  • These individual sessions can help if:

    • Your aged 18+ and want to talk about your experiences.

    • You're feeling weighed down by emotions and need a supportive space to process them.

    • Whether it's with a partner, family member, friend, or colleague, navigating relationship difficulties can be tough. Talking things through in a confidential setting can provide clarity and perspective.

    • Stress is beginning to impact your daily life. Taking time to talk allows you to unload your worries in a non-judgmental environment, promoting mental well-being and resilience.

    • You’re seeking a break from daily routines. Amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's important to prioritise self-care. Time to Talk offers a pause from your routine to focus on your mental and emotional well-being.

    • Whether you need a one-time conversation or ongoing support, Time to Talk provides flexibility in scheduling regular calls to keep in touch and continue your journey towards well-being.

  • Validation -Feel truly seen and heard.

    • Emotional Release - Expressing your thoughts and feelings in a safe, non-judgmental space can provide a sense of relief and release, helping to alleviate emotional burdens.

    • Clarity and Perspective - Talking things through with a supportive listener can offer new insights and perspectives on your situation, helping you to see things more clearly and make informed decisions.

    • Improved Relationships - By addressing challenges and conflicts in your relationships, you may learn effective communication strategies and develop healthier ways of relating to others, leading to stronger, more fulfilling connections.

    • Stress Reduction - Sharing your concerns and worries can help to reduce stress levels, promote relaxation, and increase overall feelings of well-being.

    • Personal Growth -Engaging in therapeutic conversations can foster self-awareness, self-discovery, and personal growth, empowering you to make positive changes in your life and achieve your goals.

  • Sessions are held in the following ways:

    In person - Meetings take place in a relaxed and enclosed space at Together Culture, on Fitzroy Street.

    Other places to meet could be in a local cafe, or a park in the city centre.

    Online - Meetings take place in a virtual room via a secure online platform.

    Phone call - Using your mobile or landline.

After Care Drop-in

Are you feeling lost after the loss of a loved one or adjusting to life with less caregiving? Join us for our weekly art therapy drop-in group, where you'll find a supportive community ready to listen and understand. Express yourself creatively using art as therapy and build resilience together. You're not alone in this journey. Join us and take the first step towards healing. Art materials are provided.

  • Individuals previously in an unpaid caregiving role experiencing:

    • Feeling sad after someone passes away: If you're feeling sad because someone you cared for has passed away recently.

    • No longer taking care of someone: If the person you used to take care of now lives in a care home, and you're not sure what to do with your time.

    • Finding it hard to get used to changes: If you're finding it hard to get used to life without taking care of someone, and you're feeling lost or unsure.

    • Needing someone to talk to: If you need someone to talk to about how you're feeling, and you want to do creative activities with others who understand what you're going through.

    • Wanting to meet people like you: If you want to meet others who have been in similar situations and make new friends who understand what it's like to be a former carer.

  • • Feel less alone: Get support from others who understand.

    Express yourself creatively: Use art to show your feelings in a way that feels good.

    Sense of belonging: Meet people who've been through similar stuff, making you feel like you belong.

    Learn ways to feel better: Discover effective ways to cope with feelings and changes.

    • Be stronger together: Build strength by sharing stories and supporting each other, helping you grow and handle things better.

  • This group meets weekly in a community room within a residential facility.

    This environment is for people to gather, make art, and connect with each other. Each person can create their own artwork or work together on a project.

    The aim is for the groups to meet regularly to support and learn from one another and experience a sense of community.

  • 1.5 hrs | Weekly

    By meeting regularly people can form stronger connections. You have the opportunity to keep exploring and sharing your experiences. This ongoing engagement helps build deeper relationships and fosters a sense of belonging within the group.

  • Pay in full: £30

    Pay what you can - £5 | £10 | £15

Art gathering

Art gatherings bring individuals together to make art and support one another. It's a space where everyone can express themselves creatively and feel a sense of belonging. Art materials will be provided, but you can bring your own if you wish. By working together, sharing stories, and exploring creativity, we can learn from each other and grow personally. Art gatherings are about connecting with others, feeling understood, and discovering new possibilities through art.

  • This is an open community group including individuals with and without caregiving responsibilities. This group can help if you are experiencing:

  • Art gatherings are held in a vibrant setting at Together Culture; a change-making community with a home on Fitzroy Street.

    This co-working environment is for people to gather, be creative, and connect with each other. Each person can create their own artwork or work together on a project.

    The aim is for the groups to meet regularly to support and learn from one another and experience a sense of community.

  • 11 am - 12:30 pm | Weekly on Friday

    By meeting regularly people can form stronger connections. You have the opportunity to keep exploring and sharing your experiences. This ongoing engagement helps build deeper relationships and fosters a sense of belonging within the group.

  • £5 per participant to cover cost of materials.
