Art Therapy for Adult Carers

Prioritising your well-being

Caring about carers

Welcome to Mind Your Self, a nurturing creative practice for adult carers to enhance well-being.

If you're experiencing overwhelming anger, frustration, confusion, sadness, or worry, please know that you're not alone. I offer a gentle approach to exploring your circumstances and relationships.

Based in vibrant Cambridge, my services are easily accessible to our local community. While offering various therapeutic approaches, creativity lies at the heart of my practice. Through art therapy, you can express emotions, discover new perspectives, and foster personal growth. Whether you prefer one-on-one sessions or group settings, you will find comfort and belonging.

Together, we will create a healthier balance between caregiving and personal well-being, empowering you and strengthening our carer community.

Are you a carer?

As a carer you provide unpaid support and care to a family member, friend, or loved one who may have a disability, chronic illness, mental health condition, or other challenging circumstances. You may often juggle multiple responsibilities and put others’ well-being before your own.

You may also face unique challenges in managing your own work-life balance, have financial concerns, and feel emotional strain.

If you are in need of emotional understanding, validation, and a sense of community to help you feel less isolated, I can offer a space for you to express yourself openly without guilt or judgement.

Art therapy can be a way for you to…

Take a break

Art therapy gives you a chance to take a break from your daily duties and fully engage in a creative activity. It provides a space where you can concentrate on yourself and your own feelings. You might find this experience relaxing and enjoyable as well as insightful.

Share your experience

In art therapy, you can use art to show and share your experiences visually, especially when it's hard to put them into words. When you share your art, it helps others understand and relate to what you're going through, creating a sense of connection and validation.

Feel supported

In therapy, your therapist and others in the group will understand and care about what you're going through without judging you. This connection helps you feel supported and part of a community that encourages and comforts you on your journey.
